SUPERTARGET in Iraq

Target stores in Baghdad?

SuperTarget in Iraq

The artist Trek Kelly made images of soldiers in Target uniforms.  The link lost, unable to find these images on the “The Google”, I invoke the graphic above.  I see the  target images are restored. Are search engines revising things so “The Bush” can revise “The Internet” per the 1984 recipe of the ruling party’s ability to revise the past. No record of any other evidence is available.

Neanderthal vs Cro-Magnon

October 28, 2006

Proof of evolution.  Today, walking amongst us, are the new strain of human beings of tomorrow. The new strain living with the old species has always been the case. Archaeologically speaking the race to become human shows that around 50,000 years ago in a clash of civilizations, the entrenched primitive-minded Neanderthal were overcome by the more nomadic adaptive Cro-Magnon. They both made tools, but Cro-Magnon made the first arts. As Wiki points out:

Cro-Magnons must have come into contact with the Neanderthals, and are often credited with causing the latter’s extinction.

I sometimes find myself comparing skull and jaw shapes of Republicans and Democrats. Do we have to wait 10,000 years for the inevitable resolution. On the other hand, it may take that long for voting machines to work. Someone from the future is laughing back at us now about our primitive natures – political parties, republics, and as Arthur C. Clarke pointed out, religions.

Today the Neandricans and Cromagnocrats struggle. Is to be a Republic or a Democracy? The large jaw Neandricans believes in the strong emperor that rules citizens, legislature and press. The long-fingered Cromagnocrats live in a world of many voices and choices, confusing to Neandricans.

All: I haven’t written very much from Iraq. There’s really not much to write about. (more…)

Classic 2004 Republican Convention Intro for George Bush

October 28, 2006

Have you ever written the opposite of what your values are?  This RNC/FOX speach writer expresses it well.

Draft of New Republicans Introduction to Bush for the Republican Convention 2004
(proposal 2B-FOXack – 3/18/2004)

Fellow Americans, Distinguished Republicans,

I think every Republican has had time to reflected deeply on the Presidency of our elected leader. His achievements are sobering. Just imagine how much more we will achieve when that man swears on The Bible for four more years. But here is the truth. Our President, George Bush has acted where no other American dared act. This is leadership. It is unrestrained vision. Plain and simple. It is the New America. We also know our party, and no other, is the only way to be an American.

Classic Colbert

October 26, 2006

April 29, 2006, Stephen Colbert delivered the 2006 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. The transcript or close to it.

He stood and delivered. Respect to deliver in the den of Republican emptiness. Bush was there, but Cheney declined.

GITTERDUN

October 26, 2006

Nation of sheep

bittorent  writes thoughtfully on buzzmachine about the current administrations’ excuse of warring in Iraq to spread democracy.

I always think ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’ should begin at home. Check out voting machines. It really is true that Americans have no sense of irony! A President who stole the election, spreading ‘democracy’? It is laughable.

As of yesterday’s press announcement, it is no longer “stay the course”, just  gitterdun. When will Americans wake up and smell the coffins?

What to do in Iraq now?

Why Don’t the Republicans Want Us to Win in Iraq?

For Democrats at least, victory in Iraq could have been declared a couple of times. On to those in a moment. The root cause of this current strain of terrorism is religion. The world needs to work with Muslim leaders to restore a Caliph (not caliphate) to mend and police the faith. The Catholic faith has heeled itself under a Pope. But I always thought our incursion in the Middle East was about to end a number of times.

When Afghanistan was taken, extra force could have been calculated to capture Osama bin Laden – root cause. Instead we outsourced the prize. Victory ignored.

When the invasion occurred, destroying the Iraqi army with lighting speed, no WMD found, we could have reported “Mission Accomplished” with a complete withdrawal and cessation of hostilities. (more…)

NYET

October 25, 2006

Mike Check might as well be his name, but my brother KB is back from Iraq. The NYT Editorial is my brother (Oct 24 2006).  That brother may keep this brother from going back with my citizen brothers who elected their commander to make them go.
